NIGERIA DOMINATES CAPE VERDE IN WOMEN AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS QUALIFIER

Nigeria's Victory
In an exciting match, Nigeria's women's national soccer team, the Super Falcons, secured a resounding 5-0 win over Cape Verde in the first leg of their second round Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The game took place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Thursday.

A One-Sided Match
Despite Cape Verde's impressive win over Liberia in the previous round, they were no match for the nine-time Africa champions, Nigeria. The Super Falcons dominated the game from start to finish.

Uchenna Kanu's Impact
Uchenna Kanu, a key player for Nigeria, scored two goals to help her team secure the victory. In the seventh minute, Kanu found the net with an easy tap from the edge of the box, giving Nigeria an early lead. She later scored her second goal just before halftime, thanks to a brilliant pass from Toni Payne.

Other Goal Scorers
Esther Okoronkwo also made a significant contribution to Nigeria's win. She replaced her club teammate, Monday, in the 53rd minute and wasted no time in making an impact. Shortly after the hour mark, Okoronkwo scored a sublime goal off Akudo Ogbonna's cross, increasing Nigeria's lead to four. She later grabbed her second goal of the match by pouncing on Rofiat Imuran's cross.

Impressive Performances
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made a stunning save to deny Cape Verde from equalizing early in the game. Pitts midfielder Deborah Abiodun showcased her skills in midfield, running circles around the Cape Verdean players.

Looking Ahead
The two teams will meet again for the second leg of the qualifier on December 5 at the Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde in Praia. Nigeria will enter the match with a comfortable five-goal advantage, but they must remain focused to secure their spot in the Women Africa Cup of Nations.
