Manchester United's Struggles

There have been rumors that Erik Ten Hag, the current manager of Manchester United, might be fired. However, most sources say that he will be given more time to turn things around. But one former player and pundit, Jermaine Jenas, thinks that Ratcliffe should be ruthless and let ten Hag go.

Jenas' Criticism

Jenas doesn't think that Ten Hag is a good enough manager. He believes that the team lacks cohesion and that the players don't know what to do. He also questions Ten Hag's recruitment strategy, saying that he only buys players he knows instead of what is best for Manchester United.


Manchester United's Recruitment Issues

Many people believe that Manchester United's recruitment has been poor since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club over a decade ago. Ratcliffe plans to completely change the club's transfer strategy. Looking at Ten Hag's signings, it seems like he may have made some mistakes. Mason Mount, who cost £55m, hasn't made much of an impact. Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, who arrived just a year ago, are already showing signs of decline. And Rasmus Hojlund, who was bought for £72m, hasn't scored a goal in the Premier League yet.

Will Ten Hag Be Removed?

Despite Jenas' criticism, it doesn't seem like Ten Hag will be fired anytime soon. According to a report from ESPN, Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford from INEOS have been impressed with Ten Hag's performance since he became the manager in 2022. While Ratcliffe is concerned about United's drop in form this season, he doesn't see Ten Hag as part of the problem. So, for now, it looks like Ten Hag will continue as the manager of Manchester United.
