CAMAVINGA SUPPORTS ANGOLA IN AFCON QUARTERFINALS AGAINST NIGERIA

Camavinga's Strong Links with Angola:

France international midfielder Eduardo Celmi Camavinga is showing his support for Angola as they face Nigeria in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Camavinga has a special connection with Angola, as he was born there 21 years ago in a refugee camp to parents of Angolan and Congolese heritage.

A Rising Star in French Football:

Although Camavinga moved to France at a young age, he quickly made a name for himself in football. In 2020, at just 17 years old, he made his first senior appearance for the France national team, becoming the youngest debutant in over a century. He was also a key player for the French team that finished as runners-up in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Supporting Angola from Afar:

Even though Camavinga now plays for Real Madrid, he has been closely following Angola's journey in the AFCON. The Pelancas Negras, Angola's national team, have been performing exceptionally well, remaining unbeaten and reaching the quarterfinals of the competition.

Camavinga's Prediction:

Showing his support for his birth country, Camavinga liked a post on Twitter predicting that Angola will secure a 2-0 victory over Nigeria. This shows his confidence in Angola's abilities and his belief in their potential to succeed.

Angola's Impressive Run:

Angola's success in the AFCON is well-deserved. They finished at the top of Group D, ahead of strong teams like Burkina Faso and Algeria. In the Round of 16, they defeated Namibia with a convincing 3-0 victory. This is the third time Angola has reached the quarterfinals of the continental championships.

Aiming for the Semifinals:

Now, Angola has their sights set on reaching the semifinals for the first time in their history. Their next challenge is against Nigeria, a team that has won the AFCON three times. Nigeria is ranked 40th in the world, 77 places ahead of Angola, making them the favorites in this matchup. However, Angola is determined to prove themselves and continue their impressive run in the tournament.
