CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: ARSENAL, NAPOLI, UNITED WIN PLUS OTHER MATCHDAY 3 RESULTS
The Champions League game between Napoli and Union Berlin was fiercely contested as the German Bundesliga club showed unprecedented confidence against the Italian champions who played without their injured talisman Victor Osimhen. It was a lone goal from Giacomo Raspadori in the 65th minute of the game that made all the difference.
Manchester United who have suffered two successive defeats in the Champions' League group stage this season were arguably the biggest winners of the night.
The Premier League giants bounced back from defeats against Bayern Munich, and Galatasaray to beat Copenhagen courtesy of a 72nd-minute goal from the most unlikely individual, Harry Maguire.
Even Andre Onana who is seen as a problematic goalkeeper at United turned up for the club tonight as he saved a last-minute penalty to secure United's 1-0 victory.
Arsenal also returned to winning ways after surprisingly losing their matchday two clash against Lens. Tonight, they started their UCL clash against Sevilla like how they ended their Premier League game against Chelsea last weekend.
In the additional time of the first half, Gabriel Martinelli opened the score sheet for Arsenal. While in the 53rd minute of the second half, another Brazilian, Gabriel Jesus, doubled Arsenal's lead.
Sevilla who hosted the Premier League club at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán didn't go down without a fight as they got one goal back in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, that ended up as a consolation goal as the game ended 2-1 in Arsenal's favour.
