NIGERIA'S STANLEY NWABALI BREAKS RECORD FOR SUPER EAGLES GOALKEEPERS

A New Record for Nwabali:
Nigeria's goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, made history on Friday during the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He broke a record that had been standing for 44 years!

Four Clean Sheets in a Row:
Nwabali achieved this amazing feat by keeping four consecutive clean sheets in a major tournament (AFCON). This means that in four games, he didn't let any goals get past him!

Surpassing Past Legends:
The previous record was held by Best Ogedegbe, who set it in 1980. Another goalkeeper, Alloy Agu, also had a great streak in 1990. But Nwabali has now surpassed both of them with his outstanding performance.

Nwabali's record-breaking moment came after he kept a clean sheet against Angola in the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast. This helped his team, led by coach Jose Peseiro, qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament.

In the quarter-final match against Angola, Nigeria won 1-0, thanks to a goal scored by Ademola Lookman. Nwabali's excellent goalkeeping skills played a big role in securing this victory for his team.
