NATHAN BUTLER-OYEDEJI CONFIRMS ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY FOR SUPER EAGLES
Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, a forward for Arsenal, has announced that he is eligible to play for the Super Eagles, Nigeria's national football team. He is also able to play for the Three Lions of England.
Early Life:
Butler-Oyedeji was born and raised in England to a Nigerian father and a mother from Saint Vincent.
Football Career:
He joined Arsenal's Hale End Academy at the young age of eight and signed a professional contract in 2021. In order to gain more experience and playing time, he has been on loan at Accrington Stanley and Cheltenham.
Personal Background:
In an interview with the Arsenal Matchday programme, Butler-Oyedeji shared, "My family background is that my dad’s Nigerian and my mother is from St Vincent. The Butler is from my mum’s side and Oyedeji is from my dad’s side."
Inspirations:
He also mentioned that his dad encouraged him to watch clips of Thierry Henry to learn about playing in attack. He was also inspired by players like Ronaldinho for their amazing skills on the field.
