FOOTBALL PLAYERS SUPPORT THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

Football players took a knee in support of the Black Lives Matter movement before play in the first two matches of the restarted Premier League season.
It has returned after a 100-day absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Those on the pitch, including officials, knelt down at the kick-off of Aston Villa's match at home to Sheffield United and then Manchester City's game against Arsenal.
The players' names on their shirts were replaced with "Black Lives Matter" as anti-racism protests continue across the world.
