PAUL POGBA IS A PROUD DADDY

Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba has welcomed his third child with his wife, Zulay Pogba. The French superstar took to Instagram to share the happy news with his fans, but didn’t reveal the gender of the newborn child. Sharing adorable photos from his wife’s hospital bed, the proud father wrote: ‘’Al Hamdullilah. a new Pogba member has arrived .. so proud of my Queen @zulaypogba I’m so so so happy. #Daddyofthree The former Manchester United midfielder also posted three photos of himself at Zulay’s bedside, celebrating the birth of their baby. He appeared to be in good spirits as he lifted his wife’s arm in celebration after welcoming their baby boy. His other children are Labile and Keyaan. Labile was born on January 3, 2019, the same year Pogba married his wife Zulay. The pair then had their second son Keyaan in 2020. The arrival of their latest son comes after he sustained a career-threatening injury earlier this month.

ERLING HAALAND NAMED PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE YEAR IN HIS DEBUT SEASON

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland has been named the Premier League Player of the Year in his debut season for Manchester City. The Premier League made the announcement on their website on Saturday. Haaland finished ahead of teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane and Kieran Trippier. The 22-year-old has scored 36 league goals in just 35 appearances – breaking a 29-year record for the most strikes across a Premier League campaign. He has also contributed eight assists as well as helping City to a third consecutive Premier League title and the finals of the FA Cup and Champions League in June. His 44 total goal involvements is the joint highest of all-time, equalling a record set by former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry in the 2002/03 season. Manchester United secured UEFA Champions league football next season with a commanding 4-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday. It was the third consecutive win for Man United while Chelsea suffered consecutive losses to both sides in Manchester within seven days. Casemiro, Anthony Martial, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were on target as the Red Devils moved up to third in the Premier League. Chelsea's only goal of the game was scored by Joao Felix.

Barcelona have announced that left-back Jordi Alba will depart the club at the end of the season after 11 years. The newly crowned LaLiga champions made the announcement in a statement on their website on Wednesday. “FC Barcelona and Jordi Alba have reached an agreement to terminate the player’s contract with the club one year earlier than it was due to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season,” the club stated. “FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its gratitude to Alba for his professionalism, commitment and dedication, and his ever-positive and friendly relationship with all members of the Barça family, and wishes him every fortune in the future. SNEIJDER WARNS MAN CITY AHEAD OF UCL FINAL

Inter legend Wesley Sneijder has warned Manchester City that his former side are capable of anything in a one-off game like the UEFA Champions League final. Inter qualified for their first Champions League Final in over a decade by eliminating city rivals Milan 3-0 on aggregate in the semi-final. The Serie A giants are up against City who are making a second appearance in the final. In their first final appearance in 2021, City lost 1-0 to Chelsea thanks to a Kai Havertz’’s first half goal. Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone believes Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is worth more than €100m. Osimhen has attracted interest from some of Europe’s heavyweights, following his impressive performance this season for newly crowned Serie A champions Napoli. The Serie A top scorer, who has 23 goals in 28 league appearances, is valued at €150m. On several occasions, Napoli president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has insisted Osimhen is not for sale but that has not stopped continuous reports linking the striker with a move away from the club in the summer. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: CLUBS ALREADY QUALIFIED FOR NEXT SEASON SHOWCASE

At least eight teams have qualified for next season's Champions League. They are: Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Celtic and Red Star Belgrade. Of these clubs, only Napoli and Celtic have been confirmed as champions of Italy and Scotland respectively. City and Arsenal are the top two teams in England, while Bayern Munich and Dortmund lead the way in Germany. Barcelona are widely expected to be crowned LaLiga champions. City however remain in the hunt to win this year's trophy, as they take on Real Madrid in the semi-finals. AC Milan and Inter Milan slug it out in the other semi-final clash.

Victor Osimhen can’t hide his excitement after surpassing George Weah’s record for the highest African goalscorer in Serie A. Osimhen equaled Weah’s record in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against Udinese last week. The Nigeria then set a new mark (47 goals) after scoring the winning goal in the Partenopei’s 1-0 victory at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Sunday night. The 24-year-old said it was a great honour to break the legendary George Weah’s record. “It’s really amazing. A big respect to George Weah. He has put Africa on the map when he was playing here with AC Milan. For me to surpass him is a big honour, a big respect to him,” Osimhen told BT Sports. AFRICA'S RICHEST MAN SET TO BUY FRENCH CLUB

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote is reportedly close to buying French Ligue 2 outfit, Valenciennes. Dangote, according to French news outlet, Entreprendre will acquire 60% ownership of the club. The Nigerian businessman has in the past been linked with interest in buying Arsenal. Valenciennes was formed in 1913 and plays its home matches at the recently built Stade du Hainault. The club have played 40 seasons in Ligue 1 and 36 seasons in Ligue 2.
